Build a small SQL query

Why it matters

SQL is the most valuable data-role skill. Querying is half of an analyst job.

Steps

• Pick a public dataset (Kaggle, BigQuery public datasets)
• Load data or create a sample table
• Write a SELECT query with 1-2 WHERE conditions
• Add a simple JOIN for multiple tables
• Run the query and inspect results
• Modify it to answer a different question

SQL query returning meaningful results

• Query runs without error
• Results make sense
• WHERE used appropriately
• Clear column names
